Thriving Communities: Priorities for living well and living well together

Grand Challenges Plenary

SESSION DETAILS

Tuesday 23 April, 9am - 10:30am AEST
Main Stage

Thriving communities provide the foundation of health and wellbeing. To live well, and to live well together, we need to build cohesive and tolerant societies, to overcome inequities, to live sustainably within the natural world, and to advance Indigenous rights and health, addressing the cycles of injustice and displacement borne by Indigenous communities.

Indigenous wisdom, leadership and expertise can play a critical role in improving health for all, and for our planet. In this plenary session we will have the opportunity to listen to Indigenous scholars and health system leaders. We will consider the indicators for equity, wellbeing and social determinants of health that affect us all, and reflect on how the global health community can respond and partner to build thriving, equitable, healthy communities.
