Kidist Bartolomeos is the Head of the Product Design and Impact (PDI) unit, in the Department of Quality Assurance, Norms and Standards, at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, leading a new area of work for WHO on Design, Uptake/Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning of WHO normative products and supports on the same to WHO technical units, regional and country offices. Kidist has over 25 years of experience in prevention, implementation and surveillance research, injury epidemiology, capacity building program development, working directly with WHO country and regional offices, Collaborating Centers, and other global and regional institutions supporting local research, advocacy, and prevention initiatives. Prior to joining PDI, Kidist worked for 5 years as an editor for the Bulletin of the World Health Organization, and prior to that for 15 years in the WHO Department of Injury and Violence Prevention, supporting development and country-level implementation of WHO normative products, focusing on policy and service development, capacity building, as well as overseeing global surveillance guideline development and implementation in low- and middle-income countries.
