Joachim Seybold studied medicine in Gießen, Germany and obtained his MD in 1996. He worked at the Imperial College in London in lung research before becoming a consultant in Internal Medicine at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in 2003. He also holds an MBA from the University of Bradford (UK, 2004). Since 2010 he has been appointed as the Deputy Medical Director of Charité. Beyond that, Dr. Seybold is the coordinator of Charité hilft – a program for the medical care of refugees established in 2015 which provided free healthcare in outpatient clinics in numerous refugee shelters in the city of Berlin. The health screening program for all newly arriving refugees including the vaccination program has operated since 2016 under his supervision and as part of the Charité.
