Elvis Martin is a multi-award winning international speaker, member of several government and community sector boards, an advisor to governments and campaigner for change.

In the past nine years, Elvis has received an extraordinary number of high profile awards for leadership and recognition for his activism around diversity and social justice issues: in 2022, the Premier’s Refugee Leadership Award (Vic Govt); in 2021, the National Young Community Achiever of the Year Award and a 30 under 30 Out-For-Australia Ward; in 2019, a Young Leader Award and a Meritorious Award both from the Moonee Valley Council in Victoria; and in 2018, the Premier’s Leadership Award and a Diversity Hero Award both from the Victorian Government.

Elvis was appointed to the Anti-Racism Taskforce by the Victorian Government which is responsible for developing Australia’s first Anti-Racism Strategy to build a harmonious community and develop policies and processes to ensure that employers comply with anti- racism standards. Elvis is the youngest member of the LGBTQIA+ Taskforce, which recently released the Victorian Government’s first LGBTQIA+ Strategy and 10-Year Action Plan.

He is a well-known advocate for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, especially young people. In 2021, Elvis was appointed to the Expert Advisory Panel of Safe and Equal, through which he has input on government policy and strategies on domestic violence. He is also the Principal ambassador of Youth Development Australia.
