Citra is a lecturer in Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Population Health in the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Indonesia. Citra spent 8 years of her academic career with the Field Epidemiology Training Program in UGM and undertook training held by the World Health Organization (WHO) in outbreak investigation. It was here, experiencing disease outbreak and investigation, she developed her reputation as on field epidemiologist and trained many public health officers on surveillance, outbreak investigation and control.

Citra is also a researcher at the Centre of Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, UGM, and an epidemiologist measuring long term impact after Wolbachia implementation in the Yogyakarta City project, a collaboration project with the World Mosquito Program (WMP) and Monash University.
