Professor Allie Clemans is the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Senior Vice-President at Monash University. A champion for the transformative power of higher education, Professor Clemans is charged with leading the Education Portfolio and ensuring the successful implementation of the Monash Education Plan 2022-2025. This visionary plan sets forth a strategy to empower Monash graduates to have a generational impact in our world. The plan's key pillars are; ensuring Rich Educational Experiences, Inspiring Educators, Transformative Teaching and Learning and Excellent Degrees and Programs. These pillars are underpinned by a strong commitment to Indigenous Education and Inclusive Education.

Professor Clemans is a highly regarded education researcher with particular expertise in professional and lifelong learning policies in Australia. Drawing upon her extensive experience bridging industry and education, Professor Clemans has designed and led numerous professional learning programs for leaders across national and international industry and education sectors. Notably, her collaboration with Women’s Health Victoria in response to the Royal Commission on Family Violence influenced the design of a groundbreaking vocational training course on gender equity.

Professor Clemans is an inspiring educator who holds a record of remarkable educational leadership. While Associate Dean of Education in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Professor Clemans demonstrated a deep commitment to driving innovative approaches to enrich the student experience. As leader of the Monash Education Academy, Professor Clemans ensured the University was positioned to address the learning needs of academic staff across campuses, raising the profile of excellent teaching and learning and the visibility of staff who deliver life-changing learning to students. By steering these transformative measures, Professor Clemans significantly elevated the areas of teaching quality, education recognition and support for teaching across the University. Professor Clemans has a rich educational background in sociology and education, with undergraduate studies completed at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and research degrees completed at the University of Melbourne.
